Driven by their love of hospitality, inspired by their travels around the world and committed to their hometown roots, Tiffanee Siri Ellman and Richard Ellman founded the Apheleia Restaurant Group in 2011, adding an exciting new face—and flavor—to Dallas’ dining scene. Together they own and operate some of the city’s most popular, stylish and acclaimed restaurants: Oak, Pakpao, El Bolero, and The Royale Magnificent Burgers.
The Ellmans opened their first restaurant, Oak, featuring elevated seasonal American cuisine, in December 2011 to national acclaim. During its first full year of operation, D Magazine named it The Best New Restaurant in Dallas and Bon Appetit named the restaurant to its annual “Top 50 Best New Restaurants” list. In 2014 Restaurant Hospitality magazine named Apheleia Restaurant Group one of the 25 Coolest Multi-Concept Companies in the nation, an industry top honor.
Since then, Richard and Tiffanee have changed the Dallas culinary landscape with the addition of Pakpao Thai Food, El Bolero Cocina Mexicana, Quill, and Royale Magnificent Burgers. Pakpao Thai Food was also voted as one of D Magazine’s Best New Restaurants in 2013 and since then has expanded to 3 locations in DFW – Dallas Design District, Preston Hollow Village, and Crockett Row (coming soon). El Bolero opened to rave reviews in the summer of 2015 and serves some of the best authentic regional Mexican food in the country. They also launched Royale Magnificent Burgers in 2016, a cool and quirky burger concept in West Plano’s latest mixed use urban-style development community. Plans for 2018 include the launch of El Bolero on Fitzhugh, the introduction of Pakpao Thai and El Bolero to Fort Worth on Crockett Row, and the launch of The Royale in the Maple Avenue District.
The Ellmans both grew up in Dallas and are residents of Preston Hollow. When they are not in their restaurants they can be found at home enjoying time with their three toddlers.
